We sought out Heritage Homes & Renovations when soliciting price quotations for our basement development. We spoke with several other contractors in the Airdrie area, and after a brief negotiating period we agreed on pricing fort the work, with the estimate based on a builder provided floorplan and the finishes we requested. A few custom items requested as part of our renovation included a stone faced fireplace, mantle and alcove for TV mounting and device storage, bathroom in floor heating, and exterior wiring for spa.

Chad began the work in July, preforming the framing very quickly and lining up the balance of trades (electrician, plumbers, drywall, paint, tile, flooring and city inspections) through July, August and September. We had regular meetings wit Chad to discuss progress. Some small changes were made to the original plan impacting the initial renovation quote but these were clearly documented and understood. Each time a change was requested by us, Chad issued an emended quote via email. 

We appreciated Chad’s flexible invoicing policy, he was one of the few contractors we have ever encountered who did not require any deposit but instead billed us in 4 separate invoices which aligned with key phases of work being completed. We have worked with contractors before in all of our previous 4 homes and we found that it is quite typical to have unforeseen delays or additional expenses but this was not the case with Heritage. Our final bill for services provided was the amount quoted plus our agreed – upon changes.

The work was of such quality that my wife and I absolutely nothing to follow up on with him. A year later we are still exceptionally pleased of the work and would use him again or recommend him to others (in fact we have). We feel that the renovation has added value to our home and has contributed significantly to the overall enjoyment of our home.

We would like to take a moment to express our humbled opinion of the craftsmanship and professionalism of Chad and the contractors that he hired to complete our basement development project. 

We interviewed a couple of companies to come in and give an estimate to complete our development project. During this process we not only took in account the cost that each company was quoting, but the way the company presented itself and the impression it gave us for being competent in completing he project in a safe and professional manner. 

When Chad came to give us our quote, he carried himself in a professional manner and respected our family and house. He installed confidence in that he wanted to maintain a very open communication for needs and changes to the project. We had many questions about the process and contractors that he uses, since this was our first time having a large/long term project completed. He answered every question confidently and assured us that he only hires professional and trustworthy contractors to come in and complete each phase of the process. 

The basement development was completed in the set timeframe of 6-8 weeks and stayed on budget. We kept our open communication going during the process and voiced likes and dislikes along the way. There were times when we wanted to change or add something, (ie rough plumbing in for a future wet bar, rough the lines in for a future projector, upgrade all the bathroom counters in the house to granite) and Chad or his team completed it, or suggested better alternatives, without hesitation. 

We are very happy with the craftsmanship of our basement and honestly feel like we now have an added living space that is second to none. i have already and will continue to recommend Heritage Homes and Renovations too family, friends and colleagues for future home development projects.
